King of the Nerds, an up-and-coming reality t.v show to be distributed by hit cable television network TBS, has announced this week that they’re considering further applicants.

TBS announced this past March that they’ve greenlit 8 episodes of the unscripted competition based reality show, in which self-proclaimed nerds from a variety of nerdy backgrounds will battle it out to be crowned – the king of the nerds. The show wants to emphasize “Nerd is the New Cool”, in response to changing shifts in today’s culture where we’re seeing nerds becoming billionaires (like Mark Zuckerberg and Sean Parker), pro gamers becoming celebrities, and shows like Big Bang Theory taking over television.

The casting team for King of the Nerds originally took applications starting back in August 2011, and are again taking a second round of applications starting May 9th, 2012. The second round of casting will ensure all options have been met, and that a target number of people have both heard of the casting call and have had the opportunity to submit.

Do you consider yourself a MAKER or DIY person? Have you ever been to BURNING MAN? Are you obsessed with SUPER HEROES? Are you a D&D, or WoW fanatic? Do you love everything SCI-FI? Are you ARDUINO proficient? Can you list all the digits of PI? Are you in MENSA?
