Today we have a very special interview. Here with us is Ian Richardson. Ian is the CEO of VLGaming. Here to talk about VLG and his duties as being one of the biggest growing community websites.
Matt: So, Ian can you please give us a short biography about yourself?
Ian: I am 28, from Ireland, I started off with a clan called LEND. What great time’s we had, anyway, then LEND wanted to get more into the competitive side of thing’s, so we joined a gaming community called CSC, but from there a lot of the lads from LEND decided that they had no time for it anymore. So i stayed in CSC as VORTEX team leader for a few months, but things did not work out the way i planned. Not enough players turning up for trainings and things so when a lot of my friends from PS3 decided to turn to XBOX i decided to start my own community with Shawn, one of the greatest guy’s i know out in the gaming community. Anyway here i am today with the community growing stronger day by day.
Matt: Can you tell us more about the community you started with Shawn?
Ian: Basically, we started the community for all sort’s of player let them be pro or just your everyday pub stomper and we have been growing ever since i hope it stays that way ha anyway We also wanted the Community to get together and form a team of their own in order to take part in scrimmage’s GB’S League play and that’s the way it is heading.
Matt: What are you views on being one of the biggest up and coming PS3 community websites?
Ian: That would be amazing, i could only hope that it will happen someday right now we seem to be on the right path so I think you and everyone will see that VL-Gaming is going to the top.
Matt: What are some of the duties of being the CEO of VLGaming?
Ian: The first and main priority is to make sure all the member’s of VL-Gaming are happy with the way the site is laid out so its easy for them to navigate around the site and to make sure my staff are doing their job correctly then i would maintain the site with new info about LAN events, Twitch.tv streams, etc…
Matt: Do you get along with all of your community members and teams?
Ian: Yes, that’s what it is all about is getting along all the members joining game sessions and having a laugh.
Matt: This is a bit off topic, but what are some of your favorite games to play?
Ian: Well, I am most defiantly an RPG gamer Skyrim, Farcry, Fallout, but I do love Ratchet and Clank.
Matt: What is it like being part of a ever so growing COD community?
Ian: Its amazing, I mean I get to meet new people everyday from all across the world.
Matt: Are any of the teams under VLGaming going to be part of the next wave of top AM teams?
Ian: I think so, we have 2 great teams at the minute AvG Advantage great team to work with and to talk with then you have a new team that has join VL-Gaming recently EDGE they have a good streak on GB’S with 50-0 the last time i looked and hopefully they are heading to MLG-Dallas to take part in that event.
Matt: What is it like to have two top ps3 teams under your name?
Ian: One word AMAZING i never thought I would have teams like this but its great to have the 2 of them and i hope more we come to VL-Gaming after You guy’s bring home the title!
Matt: Where do you see yourself and VLGaming in the next 5 years or so?
Ian: At the top, with the way we are growing now there is no doubt in my mind we will be at the top growing.
Matt: What would you like to say to all the VLG supporters out there?
Ian: I would just like to say thank you all for your support, we would not be were we are today because of you all, but here we stand closer to the top. Keep it up!
