Today, we have a interview with Shawn “VLG-PrisM” Simpson. Co-founder of VLGaming.net and he is here to talk about the site.
Matt: So, Shawn can you please give us a short biography about yourself?
Shawn: Well basically, I have been playing video games since I was able too stand, about age 4, I am 27 now. I have always had a passion for gaming, as well as helping people. I was brought onboard at CsCGaming.net a couple years back with my friend Ian (VLG-Gambit) and helped to get that organization famous. We both wanted to start a website to be more friendly to all gamers of the community no matter what skill level or arena you were involved in. Thats when me and Ian started VLGaming.net together. Now we aspire to promote Competitive Gaming in all of its aspects and expand the industry.
Matt: What are your views on being the co-founder of such a orginization?
Shawn: My views? Being Co-Owner of a website is A whole new thing for me, but if it weren’t for all of the wonderful people that I have had the opportunity to work with this would never have happened.
Matt: What are your roles inside the website?
Shawn: As of this moment, I am in charge of.. Recruiting member/teams/sponsers, getting our social media off the ground, NA and EU members and thier issues. As well as keeping our LAN team on track, with the help of VEXIS of course J
Matt: What are your goals for VLG?
Shawn: To create a place where gamers of ANY kind or skill level, can come to be part of the gaming community. As well as bring onboard top LAN teams or Amatuer teams that ned a chance to do something with their Gaming career
Matt: What is the biggest challenge of being under your position?
Shawn: Making everyone happy, you have to be 3 things.. A GREAT diplomat, a FIRM leader, and a chill guy to get along with. The other thing to consider is letting all the stress of life just wash away so you can do what you have to do for your men.
Matt: What is the biggest accomplishment of VLG thus far?
Shawn: Getting our team “VLG-Below Zero” to MLG-Dallas. We did that all by ourselves and its something for everyone who was involed to be very proud of, no matter WHAT happens.
Matt: Is their anything about VLG you wish you could change or make better?
Shawn: You know.. I am so proud of all that we accomplished for the almost 100 members on our site, that I am not at all unhappy with what we have don. It is only going to go UP from here and I will be there to make my members dreams come true.
Matt: What are your favorite games to play?
Shawn: Mostly COD but I got started on the classics (Galaga, Pac Man, BrickBreaker) and elevated to LOVING RPG’s. FF7 is still the most AWESOME RPG of all time and they need too remake it.
Matt: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
Shawn: I see me and Ian owning the biggest Gaming Organization ever built that gives ANY gamer/team a chance at being some part of the industry, no matter how big or small. At creating a place where you can go and use your talents as a Gamer to do something better and be a better person.
Matt: If you could get one partnership, who would that be with?
Shawn: Anyone who was willing to give us a chance. That is the least my guys deserve is the, BEST.
Matt: Lastly, any shout outs?
